   Asphalt comes out differently than concrete, and that works in your favor. It breaks and peels up in layers rather than shattering, which makes for a fast, clean removal, cut, broken, loaded, and hauled in less time than most people expect. Saw cutting handles the precision side: removing a failed section of a parking lot, cutting a straight line where new asphalt will tie into old, or squaring off a patch area so the repair crew inherits clean edges instead of ragged ones.

   What's under the asphalt matters as much as the asphalt. Most surfaces sit on a compacted base of road rock, and the plan for that base depends on what's next, staying in place and re-compacted if new asphalt is going down, or removed with everything else if the space is becoming landscape, concrete, or open ground.
