STUMP REMOVAL

STUMP REMOVAL PROFESSIONALS

Serving Fresno, Clovis, Sanger , and the Central Valley

Stump Grinding Done Right

Stump grinding is the fastest, cleanest way to get rid of a stump. We bring in a grinder with a carbide-tipped cutting wheel and chew the stump down below grade, no excavation, no torn-up yard, no massive hole to deal with afterward.

Standard grinds go 4 to 12 inches below the surface, which is enough to lay sod, seed grass, or plant flower beds over the spot. Need to go deeper for a specific project? Tell us during the walkthrough and we'll plan the grind around it.

We handle every stump the same way whether it's a fresh cut or one that's been sitting for twenty years. Oak, ash, mulberry, fruitless pear, old orchard trees. Species doesn't change the process, it just changes how long we're running the machine. Hardwoods take longer than softwoods. Big root flares take longer than clean trunks. Either way, when we're done, the stump is gone and what's left is a pile of grindings.

Those grindings are yours if you want them, they make decent mulch for beds and pathways. If you don't, we'll rake them into the hole or haul them off with the green waste.

One thing worth knowing before we start: grinders don't like rocks, concrete, or old fence hardware buried in the root zone. If you know there's something in or around that stump, landscape rock, an old sprinkler valve, rebar, tell us up front. It saves teeth on the machine and time on your job.

What Our Customers Are Saying About Us

Javier        ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   11/05/2025

“David Romero is an exceptional professional with a clear understanding of his work. He successfully removed three stumps from my property. A task that required significant effort. I intend to utilize his services for future projects should the need arise. I highly recommend David: he is the ideal choice for such tasks.

Stump Grinding is Always Long Over Due

A stump is what's left when the tree comes down and the job stops halfway. It's a trip hazard, a mowing obstacle, a magnet for termites and ants, and the one thing keeping that corner of the yard from being usable.   DemoRex provides professional stump grinding throughout Fresno, Clovis, Sanger, and the Central Valley, any size stump, any species, one stump or a whole property's worth.

First, what stump grinding is. Instead of digging the stump out of the ground, which tears up a huge area of your yard,  a grinder chips the stump away, pass by pass, taking it down below ground level until nothing is left at the surface. It's the faster, cleaner, and far less destructive way to make a stump disappear, and for almost every situation, it's the right call. Grinding takes the stump and the immediate root flare; it doesn't involve chasing roots across the yard, and it doesn't need to, the remaining roots die off and break down naturally underground.

The stump gets ground several inches below grade, deep enough for grass, sod, or landscaping to go right over the top. If the spot has bigger plans, like concrete or replanting, let us know at the quote and we'll grind deeper to match what's coming.     What's left behind is a shallow depression filled with wood chips, natural mulch from your own tree. Those grindings can stay as fill, get spread in your garden beds, or be hauled away with the rest, whichever you prefer. One honest note: as buried grindings break down over time, the spot can settle slightly, topping it off with a little soil down the road is normal.

Location is rarely a problem. Stumps in backyards, behind gates, tight against fences, near concrete, or close to structures are everyday work, the grinder is compact enough to fit through standard gates and controlled enough to work close to what's staying. Old, hardened stumps grind the same as fresh ones. Before grinding near irrigation, sprinkler lines, or known utilities, point out what's underground at the estimate and we'll plan the grind around it.

A couple of common questions, answered straight: No, the tree won't grow back from a ground stump in almost all cases, a few stubborn species can send up shoots from remaining roots, and those get handled if they appear. And yes, multiple stumps on one visit is the efficient way to do it, if the property has several, have us look at all of them at the quote.

The process is quick. Our estimator looks at the stump or sends us a photo situation worth asking about, you get your quote, and most stump grinding jobs are done fast, often the same day the crew arrives. The stump that's been in your way for years is usually gone within the hour.

No Stump Is Too Close to Something

Stumps never sit in convenient places. They're in the middle of the lawn where every mow has to swing around them or worse, they're grown into a fence line, wedged against posts and pickets, in exactly the spot where digging one out would mean sacrificing the fence. Grinding is what makes those stumps solvable: the work happens in controlled passes, right where the stump is, without tearing up the fence, the concrete, or the yard around it. The fence stays. The stump doesn't.

The standalone stump in the open is the easy version, and the fence-line stump is the one people assume can't be done, but they end the same way: ground below the surface, covered over, and gone from the property's story. If you've been mowing around one for years or living with a fence that bulges around old wood, both of those problems have the same one-visit answer.
