SWIMMING POOL DEMOLITION

SWIMMING POOL REMOVAL PROFESSIONALS

Serving Fresno, Clovis, Sanger , and the Central Valley

From Old Pool To Usable Yard

Pool removal is done one of two ways. A partial removal (also called pool abandonment or fill-in) breaks up the top portion of the shell, punches drainage holes through the bottom, and backfills the pool with compacted material, it's faster and more affordable. A full removal takes out the entire shell, leaving nothing behind, more work, but a blank slate. Either way, the fill has to be placed and compacted in lifts, because a poorly compacted pool fill settles and sinks for years.

DemoRex handles both partial and full pool removal throughout the Central Valley, including gunite, fiberglass, and vinyl-liner pools. We pull the required permits, disconnect the utilities, break out and haul off the concrete for recycling, and backfill with proper compaction. When we're done, the yard is graded level and ready for lawn, landscaping, or new construction.

I intend to utilize his services for future projects should the need arise. I highly recommend David: he is the ideal choice for such tasks.

Swimming Pool Demolition and Removal

An unused swimming pool costs money to maintain, raises your property taxes, and takes up yard space you could be putting to better use.         DemoRex provides professional pool demolition throughout Fresno, Clovis, Sanger, and the Central Valley, handling the entire process from permits to final compaction.

Here's how it works. We pull the permits, and the work is done to your city or county's specifications. The pool decking is removed, along with the top one to two feet of the pool shell. The entire lip of the bowl is hauled out. Drainage holes are busted out in the bottom of the pool per permit requirements, so water never collects in the buried shell. Clean dirt is then brought in, backfilled, and compacted to city or county specs, with compaction verified by an independent soil testing company. When it's done, the pool is officially removed from your property, which means it comes off your property taxes too. Full pool removal, where the entire shell is dug out and hauled away, is also available if your project calls for it.

All pool equipment can go with the pool. Pumps, heaters, diving boards, slides, railings, and ladders are all removed and hauled out if needed.

A few things to know before work begins. The pool should be drained by the owner. A small amount of water left in the deep end, anything under eighteen inches, is fine. Utilities serving the pool, including gas and electrical to the pump and heater, need to be shut off before the project starts; we can take care of that, or your preferred company can handle it. And because this type of pool removal is considered a filled-in pool, it's something you'll disclose if you ever sell the home, the permits and compaction testing from the job give you the documentation that it was done right.

Not every backyard has wide-open access, and that doesn't stop a pool job. When a yard is tight, we can remove a section of fencing to get equipment in, come through an alley, or work through the side yard when the access allows. Reaching the pool is part of the plan we build at the free on-site evaluation, not a surprise on demo day.

From Backyard Pool To Buildable Ground

The question most homeowners ask about pool removal is simple: what do I actually end up with? The answer is level, compacted, inspected ground. Dirt that's been placed in lifts, compacted to spec, and verified by an independent soil testing company, not just a hole with fill pushed into it. That difference matters, because properly compacted ground is what lets the space become whatever comes next: lawn, garden, a patio, a shop, or just open yard for the first time in decades.

A pool that took up a third of the backyard becomes usable square footage again. No more maintenance, no more pump running, no more liability sitting behind the fence. For a lot of our clients, it's the first time they've seen their whole yard in years.
